Commencement of work on the Jorf Lasfar phosphate industrial complex
HRH the late King Hassan II broke ground in Jorf Lasfar, located 25 km south of El Jadida, as the start of the construction of the Maroc Phosphore III & IV phosphate enhancement complexes began. The sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid production lines started in 1986 and the fertilizer production line in 1987. Today, Jorf Lasfar is the largest phosphate fertilizer complex in the world.
