100 years of history
From a handful of miners under a tent to 21 000 collaborators in careers as various as mining, fundamental research or agronomy, OCP is first and foremost a human adventure. Today, on the occasion of its 100 years and through this website that is dedicated to them, the Group pays tribute to all those that shaped it, generation after generation.

Phosphate and development: what is a leading company? Geopolitics, sociology, economy
September 29 ,2020
This webinar addresses the first hundred years of a leading company by sharing OCP Group’s story.
The guest speaker, Mr. Larbi Jaïdi, Economist and Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, chose an approach that goes through the history of phosphates as a process of structural transformation of a resource under the strategic actions of an industry leader.
This webinar is an opportunity to discover OCP’s full history in a whole new light.

Biosaline agriculture contribution to food security: Success stories of OCP-UM6P projects
October 12 ,2020
Soil salinization is a major challenge for agriculture, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, but solutions exist.
Among them is biosaline agriculture, an agricultural production system that Dr. Abdelaziz Hirich explains through this webinar, by presenting its components as well as practical projects implemented in Morocco with OCP Group and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University support.
Dr. Abdelaziz Hirich is Assistant Professor of Biosaline Agriculture both at UM6P and the African Institute for Sustainable Agriculture Research in Laâyoune.

Discovery and exploration of phosphates in Morocco: from geology by hammer to 3D underground Imaging
October 30 ,2020
Since the first forms of exploration of the phosphate resource in Morocco, more than a century ago, the tools and methods of recognition and exploitation of the deposits have not ceased to evolve.
This is the story of a century of innovation, from the beginnings of cartography to the use of digital technology, across which three experts from the OCP Group Cadi Ayyad University and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University will attempt to trace for us in order to open up and develop new horizons for growth.

The hydroinformatisc and the concept of the circular economy: Transport of phosphate by pipeline and recovery of water from its treatment.
November 12 ,2020
Sustainable and responsible management of water resources is a priority for OCP Group. The Slurry Pipeline linking Khouribga to Jorf Lasfar has saved more than 3 million m3 of water. To go even further, OCP has set itself the objective of satisfying 100% of its industrial water needs through recycling and desalination of seawater. Can we now assess the impact of this wastewater reuse on phosphate treatment? What solutions would be considered now ?
Two experts and researchers will answer these and other questions from UM6P's International Water Research Institute (IWRI) during this webinar.
Speakers : Dr. Nabil El Moçayd and Dr. Mohamed Chaker Necibi

Paleontological heritage of Moroccan phosphates.
November 26 ,2020
72 million years ago, an inland sea covered the region of Morocco, which today is home to the largest phosphate reserve in the world. This is where the bones of dinosaurs, large marine reptiles and mammals have been deposited over time, constituting a unique paleontological heritage.
This webinar invites you to discover this fossil wealth and its fascinating history thanks to eminent specialists in paleontology.
Pr Nathalie BARDET and Pr Emmanuel GHEERBRANT, Research Directors at CNRS, CR2P (Paris Paleontology Research Center of the National Museum of Natural History (Sorbonne University).
Nour-Eddine JALIL, Professor at the National Museum of Natural History - Center for Research in Paleontology (Paris) (MNHN-Sorbonne University), Lecturer-researcher and in charge of collections Specialist in fossil vertebrates
Fatima KHALDOUNE: Senior Analyst, Responsible for paleontological heritage - OCP, doctorate in paleontology from Cadi Ayyad University in co-supervision with MNHN-Sorbonne University.

Geology of Moroccan phosphates: Deposit and preservation
December 28 ,2020
For our last meeting of the year, two eminent experts will come to share their knowledge on the geology of phosphates in Morocco through a global and synthetic description.
The mineralogical and biochemical analysis of the Moroccan phosphate series, its spatiotemporal evolution and other scientific approaches will be discussed to help us optimise and sustain the exploitation of an essential resource for the world of tomorrow.
Mustapha MOUFLIH, Professor of Higher Education at Hassan II University in Casablanca, geoscientist of international renown for his innovative work in the fields of geology and environmental sciences.
Mohamed AQUIT, Head of Geological Exploration in the South zone - Laâyoune/Boucraâ at OCP, Doctor at Kiel University in Germany, expert in petroleum geology, sedimentology and environmental geology.

Theme: Valorization of natural resources and development of high value-added products in a concept of circular economy.
December 17 ,2020
After the various topics discussed which allowed us to enrich our historical and scientific knowledge on the world of phosphates, Dr Abdelaziz YASRI invites us today to work in the field, as close as possible to agriculture.
This webinar will present the challenges of tomorrow's agriculture, particularly in Africa, and will attempt to provide answers through a global approach to enhance the value of natural resources, the development of new biotechnologies and high value-added products.
